Memorial

I am told the memorial for Marty is done. The foundry say's it really looks great. Mark I will send you pics as soon as I get it and I will have it engraved before presentation in July.
I will show it at the HAI in Dallas in 2 weeks and at the AAAA in Ft worth in March and we will make folks and other units aware of the Museum memorial wings.
I will post pics as soon as I have it in my wittle hands. a week or so at most. (the foundry at Memphis Tex is 200 + miles from me)
Next item. The crewchief wings are done. I am told you can count evey star in the circle above the eagle and it looks much better than the pilot wings. ( A mericle in sand casting circles) I ordered 50 sets sight unseen and the 3 artist's proofs are on the way. Set 1 goes to a gator.
The rest will be up for sale at 30 bucks each as soon as I can get all the stuff done and placed on the museum store site. The first production run may have a few glitches ( like porosity ( the pilot wings took 2 runs to fix but they are what they are.) Castings in white bronze from our choppers. The local VFW commander is an old 101 crewchief and demanded the next 5 after I told him the 119th got number 1. sets 7 thru12 will be marked and signed by me. Each set of wings will have a certificate similar to the pilot wings. ( All certificates are signed by me or another director of the museum) I wish to heaven I'd had a 50 cal cartridge case melted into each batch of CC wings but I never thought of it at the time. Anyway, the wings will be shown soon and you can bet I will keep you informed. I will also send a set to Tom Frankenfield to validate quality and after that it is off to the races. Every purchase is tax deductable and the museum can use the help.
Damn, I love it when a plan comes together-)
Finally. Mike Dufour ( Gator 073) is coming by to see me in a few days on his way back to california and will spend the night, so you will have two old gators who last saw each other in the late spring of 67 on here sending to you. I will let him describe the stuff the museum is doing-))
