Dear Lorraine,

Hi Honey! I’m sure I am in the Dog House for not writing but just have not felt like it. I am back at Holloway now hopefully for good and my ship is in for its 1100-hour inspection. Being back is a lift for me and so are the letters you keep sending. As for the days I missed we flew a few CA’s, lots of re-supply, and a few C&C (Command & Control) missions for the 25th. I should have several days off now until the work is completed. I plan to write more often, drink beer, relax, and keep an eye the maintenance work. Our hooch maid looked a little upset to see us back, I know she has had it easy for the last month.

The Company Commander told us today that as a unit the 119th logged over 2700 hours last month. I’m not sure what to compare it to but I know we put in a lot of airtime.
If it keeps up like this my ship will be worn out before I leave.

I’m putting another money order in with this letter for stationary and I have also included some stamps. It’s the least I can do for you since you have been good enough to write on a regular basis. Two of our guys are going home soon, I’m glad for them they have put in the time and are will be missed. I don’t know if they will be replaced with people from the maintenance platoon or Cherries just coming in from the States. I hope its guys from maintenance, the new guys don’t know anything about flying over here. I guess I should cut the new guys some slack since I was one not to long ago. Some days I still feel like a new guy.

Glad to hear your second semester classes are easier. Maybe you can relax some and enjoy the college experience more. Just don’t enjoy it to much, there is one bad ass crew chief over here who would be a little mad when he got home. I going to stop now and write to my mom. I haven’t written her since I last wrote you. I promise to write again tomorrow.

I Love You
Tom
