Arrogance?

We advertised in the SNET "Yellow Pages" under "OFFICE SUPPLIES." In every book in the state.

SBC bought SNET, the next books out have our (very expensive) ads under the heading "OFFICE SUPLS." I call and talk nicely to the rep, the answer is, "That's the way we do it." In other words, "Kiss my ass."

I get not so nice. I say to the rep, "I do not sell SUPLS, and my customers do not buy SUPLS. I sell SUPPLIES, and they buy SUPPLIES. You tell those people in Texas that we are gone if they do not change that heading back." In other words, "No, you kiss mine."

Did they? Of course not. Is there a reason, any reason, to change the word SUPPLIES to SUPLS? Of course not. Are we out of their Yellow Pages? Bye-bye.
