Dear Lorraine,

Hi! Honey, How are You? I’m fine we flew a few missions today. Did some re-supply and picked up some Grunts and brought them back to Base Camp then we sat around waiting for something else but nothing came up so we were released for the day. I had C-Rats for lunch not sure about dinner yet. One of the Grunts we flew in today was shot in the foot. Right through the top. I asked him how it happened and he told me that he accidentally shot himself. We think he did it on purpose just to get out. If that is the case his buddies are better off without him.

Well, another day has gone by and that brings me closer to you and home. It’s still not close enough though. Days here are pretty much meaningless except for the bad days they seem to stand out. I look forward to flying each day but at the same time you always know that things could go wrong very fast. If you haven’t guessed I’m feeling kind of morbid today. Other than that I am in good health and still know I’m gonna make out this place.

On to a brighter subject, I got a letter from you today and want to say Thank You. On the days that I don’t get mail I read your old letters to cheer me up. You do have a way with words and I know you mean it. Keep sending the Peanuts strips, I get a kick out of snoopy flying his dog house. That’s enough for now I have to save some thoughts for tomorrows letter.

Love
Tom
