Rain

If it isn't one thing its another. In the past 24 hours we have received 2 inches of rain. This goes well with what is left of the 24 inches of snow on the ground.

Today I had to clear a path in the snow from the back door out to the end of the yard. The ground has a natural slope away from the house but the snow was preventing the rapid melt from seeking its natural exit. I don't own a pair of hip waders and I can testify that regular height boots did not keep the icy water out. Two hours later the job was done. No water in the house and the feeling is just now returning to my toes.

I did not have anything else on my schedule for today but did learn a valuable lesson. The next time we have a snow of that magnitude I'll be shoveling a path in the back yard too.
