You (we) pretty much knew in the morning that you (we) were prolly gonna be up to (y)our a** in alligators (sorry) before the end of the day, probably sooner. Just by the nature of the mission, more often than not. Maybe I gulped, and maybe I puckered a bit, but dammit, you and we all got in those ships anyway and flew off to get it done.
