When flying FOB II the slicks stayed at the compound and the Guns elsewere. Missions were done with two Slicks and two Guns. The second Slick was back up in case any thing happened. There were two other slicks at the compound on stand-by just in case. We ran the same way while at Dak To. The Guns never stayed at the same place. In 67 ther SF camp at Dak To had no visible compound and looked like it would have been easy pickin for the NVA. I'm sure they had something out there we just could not see it.
