You forgot to say that retirement is a very busy time for some of us. We generally have other things to do that are imposed by the most demanding taskmaster in the world, ourselves.

I too have only been online for a short time (less than a year)even though I have been using computers since the seventies. I really got busy with computers when I took my job at NASA, I was responsible for personal computers being put into the Mission Operations Directorate work offices. I demonstrated that I could produce a document almost as good as those produced by our support organizations who were preparing documents professionally. I nearly got fired for my efforts though, my bosses wife was put out of a job preparing the document that I was responsible for when I took over the production. I found out later that she was married to my Boss, nearly a disasterous mistake.

I changed jobs to go to work for the company "off-site" where I was to use my expertise working on the Space Station. I produced the documents for the company for everything but the instation of photographic art. I was also responsible for several documents that are still being used today. I produced the scheduling constraints document for the Space Stations computer system. That was a mixture of Computer / Experiment / Flight Requirements, and related operational support activities. Wordstar II and III was a little limited and did not provide for the inclusion of photographs and other support materials.

I still haven't learned the skills to run a website. I worked for years with everything from an Osborne One (using CPM - Control Process Monitor software) to the Harris Mainframe (using Fortran). Now my Laptop has more power than the Harris Mainframe. The concept boggles my mind. The technology that I grew up with is now called History. I am still trying to figure out what this new stuff is, it is pretty neat but it is confusing.
