I hear you Dave, several of them definately have caught my eye. Someday maybe, just too many drawbacks that almost seem to defeat the purpose of having the thing as recreational vehicle (unless you got a couple hundred thousand just sitting around burning a hole in the pocket..).

One thing I have seen a lot of from the folks that own the Rotorways, Mini 500's etc. is that they trailer them around a lot.... Christ, whats the point of that ??? I don't want to be filling out a loan application everytime I fire the damn thing up... I wanna grab my fishing pole on a sunday morning and head for the secret fishing hole nobody else knows about....

There is an actual "ultralight" single seater that looks like the Mini 500 being produced now. It meets all the requirements to be flown as an ultralight classified helicopter (I think it has to be under 400 lbs or something to make it). The whole thing is made out of titanium and special composites. From what I hear though it's pretty underpowered... Neat concept though.
