Got ya, Paul... now I 'member...

the more I see the pics posted here, the more comes back to me... and I didn't get to see that much from the air...

one of the places from which you took a pic, tho, was over toward Camp Enari from Holloway... QL 14 ran at about a 90 degree from the road into Pleiku, and several miles down that road, I was with some buddies from 71st Evac, one of whom was their Armorer. Rick and I went to high school together in Germany. We loaded a 'deuce with small arms and a shitload of ammo, and went out into the boonies to "test fire" them all. I think I remember him saying something to the effect that it was part of his job,( anyway, he liked to shoot as much as I did) as he received weapons
turned in at 71st for allied casualties, and some bad guys', too. We had old bolt-actions, a Thompson sub, M3 grease gun, M-1 carbine and M-1 rifle, M14, M-16, CAR 15, several revolvers and autos, a pump shotgun, and who knows what else..
I had the sweet little M2 that Silk may have made
(he thinks he did, and I think he did).

We had quite a variety, and chopped the boonies to SHIT. It never occurred to us that there might be
some reason not to have done so where and when we did it..... du---uuuuhhhh.

I described the place we were years later to a guy who was with the 4th at Enari, and he told me that the place I described to him, if in fact is was the same place, (seems to me it WAS, from my memory and his description) was typically very much populated by VC...

du-uhhh, again. if so, I hope we ruined their day.
