Nothing to apologize for Tom, this is great stuff ! When this is all up and running we're going to be making some valuable information available to people who don't have access to the archives like you do. It's just going to take a little time.

I've been wanting to get myself setup so I can do this for my company as well. I bought all the parts but never got them together. I have product information, price sheets etc. that should have been available to my customers long ago but I never got myself setup to do it. This will get me going on that front as well.

The scanning goes quickly. I have a pretty good HP scanner with a document feeder. I can stack the paperwork in it and run it through into a "workflow" process that, aside from the OCR, is automated. The OCR piece takes the most time. It's very easy to do and Adobe does a great job with their software but with all of the military acronyms and the faded typing in somes areas, it requires a lot of correcting.

By the time you come back from your trip, I should have the site Archive in place and a few documents up. I have to give some thought on the best way to create this Archive area and search abilities. May take a few days....
