Happened upon these hearings a couple of days ago on TV. Sen Kay Baily Hutchison was one of a very few questioning how this was being done and fighting to retain or gain for her constiuents. If you don't know what's happening in your area, you may want to log on the the VA site, check the DAV or VFW sites, Senator Arlen Spector, or Anthony Principi (VA Secy. The govt't trying to slowly creep that rug out from under you. Let them know your feelings on this.
I heard them say how they had open hearings at Clinics across the nation to get vet input. If typical, they held one in Pensacola. Trouble was, they kept it hush hush and a little article announced this hearing in the paper on the day of the hearing. Sure they got a lot of input from vets on this one! Was probably held behind the building, to boot! A quick visit to the sites will let you give them your SHORT opinion. Don't leave it to a few vets to speak for you..cause the dlegislature would rather spend money elsewhere. Caroline
