they dealt a few out, too, Bob- summer '65 'til late '71, I think.

Dan was lost in an action (Maui Peak), 6-19Oct68 pitting a little over two full Marine infantry battalions, their supporting arty and air, "some" (unknown how many) ARVNS, part of the Army's 5th Mech, and ??? against two NVA Regiments who held siege to Thuong Duc, an Army SF camp, up QL14 about a hundred miles from Pleiku. Attrition, allied tenacity and a typhoon broke the siege.

Seems I've seen NVA unit IDs showing their operation in the highlands later on.

I've seen figures reflecting an across-the-board enemy-to-Marine casualty (KIA/WIA) ratio of ten to one... of course, this cannot be completely confirmed, and you know how body counts could be... but this is the Corps' version of it.

they were knee-deep in the Hue City action of Tet '68, and in other wars, Chateau-Thierry, the Argonnes, the Somme, Tarawa, Guadalcanal, Red Beach (Inchon) and the Chosin....

I didn't count the Golf 'Nam losses, but it appears to approximate 119th's.
