Brother Bob, from what I could tell most of the good pilots died early in the conflict as did the good infantry leaders. I think that the brave ones were killed simply because they lead by example hence when we arrived the only ones left were the cautious ones. That is excluding the King Bee pilots, I think they were on a steady diet of Audy Murphy movies but they didn't believe in sharing air space! Brother Tom
