Since I grew up on the western border of Virginia ( I came to Texas in my teens for basic, fell in love with the state and stayed.) I will now attempt to enlighten that Texan Lumpy about "Sic Semper Tyrannis". He's right, it was shouted by Booth as he departed stage right at Ford's Theater in 1865, but prior to that it was on the VA. seal and flag.
Virginia's State motto is"Sic Semper Tyrannis", Thus Ever To Tyrants. The Library of Virginia in Richmond says "this is the motto recommended for the seal of Virginia by George Mason to the Virginia Convention in 1776. It has no literary origin of note. However the Virginia Seal shows Virtus with her foot on a prostrate tyrant, it's thought that the motto suggests all tyrants will meet with such treatment."
Anyway, glad they condemned the slug. The sooner he's toast the better for what he did. And the Malvo kid too.
