Dear Lorraine,

Hi! Honey! How are you? Today is a dark, foggy, rainy day in Vietnam. I hate these kinds of days because you can’t do anything. If the rain stops we will have missions if it doesn’t we have to standby anyway. I can spend my time writing even though I don’t have much to tell you other than I Miss You very much. If I was back home with you I know we would find something to do to pass the time. Speaking of missing you I still need your new address. It’s probably hung up somewhere between Maryland and Pleiku.

Last night we had an alert the word was that Pleiku was supposed to be hit by the VC. When we have an alert we are supposed to standby our ships and be ready to take-off when it happens. It’s not the safest place to be since the main target is the flight line and the objective is to destroy as many ships as possible. Well nothing happened except missing several hours of sleep. This is not the first time we have had an alert and it’s not the first time nothing has happened. I’m glad I was not on Flare Standby, that’s a real pain. I’ll explain when I get home.

I could continue to ramble on about nothing but it’s hard to see in the dark. I can’t even turn on a flashlight, so that’s all for now. I Love You and Miss You Very Much.
