and Target Stores-

there have been numerous, very believable emails circulating (suggesting boycotts of Target) concerning one alleged event (clarification below) of solicitation of Target for a donation to support Veterans- and that their alleged reply was that they donate about $2 million per week amongst their "customer communities", but that they (allegedly) DO NOT SUPPORT VETERANS' CAUSES".

Gordon Liddy's radio program staff (per his radio program on 12/18) received one of the emails, and investigated the issue, and found out that Target REGULARLY donates to VVMF, and actively supports financing for the travelling "Wall That Heals", and MANY other programs for Vets.

Liddy's crew's investigation revealed that the soliciation is question did meet with a negative response from Target, but that was not the whole story.

Per the "must read" (on the right-bottom of the first page on Liddy's website
( http://www.liddyshow.com ) :

A "gentleman" purporting to represent a chapter of the VFW, and claiming to be a 'Nam vet approached a Target store manager, requesting a $100.00 CASH donation for a local Veterans' function, and the answer was innacurately circulated that Target does not have any interest in Vets causes. (paraphrased by Lumpy, from various reports I've heard about the story)

Target's response, from a Liddy site link:

I'll buy that.
