Dear Lorraine,

Hi! Honey, How are you? I’m fine and still at Dak To. Sorry I haven’t written for a few days but we have been pretty busy with our missions here. Besides working with the Special Forces guys we have been putting in Long Range Recon Patrols also called LRRP’s, and Road Runners, they are Vietnamese troops that dress up like the Viet Cong and then try to infiltrate with them to gather intelligence information. These guys are crazy. Tomorrow we are supposed to put in another Team, and then we have one ready to come out. I hope they pick a good LZ since most of them have been very small and hard to get into. I really like what we are doing, it’s a lot better than the re-supply missions we were doing. The only draw back is living in tents and the shower facilities are not the greatest.

Enough of this. How is school going? I hope you are keeping up with your studies. I got a letter from my mom today and she was wondering if you are doing OK. Maybe if you get a chance the next time you are home you could stop in to see her. I haven’t been doing very good writing her and should try to do better. It’s really hard to find things to say and not cause her to worry any more than she does.

In another month you will be done with school for the year. Have you decided what you are going to do this summer? I hope you relax and have a good time. If you hear from or see any of my old friends tell them to go pound sand. I haven’t heard from any of them. I wrote to Dick and Bob a few times with no response so I guess they just don’t care. No sweat, I have you and that’s all I need. When I get out of here I’m looking forward to spending the rest of my life with you. If I had a crystal ball I’d know how things are going to work out, but I guess that would take the fun out it.

I’m going to try to write a few lines to my Mom. I Love You and Miss You Very Much. You are in my dreams as always.
