Dear Lorraine,

Hi! Honey, How are you? I’m doing great because I got three letters from you today. I was glad to hear you are doing well in school. I guess you will be finished soon and have the summer off to relax. I wish I could be there to enjoy it with you.

Things here have been about the same. We have several teams out and are on alert until they get picked up, not sure when that will be. The other day we had an emergency extract of one of the teams. They made contact with the NVA and had to run. We had to pull them out on ropes since there were no places near by to land. Our gun ships provided cover for us while we pulled out three of them and the second ship got the last three guys out. Everyone made it back to base OK. I don’t know how much longer we will be assigned here but the duty is good and it beats long days of flying re-supply. Some days the missions get pretty dangerous and others they are just normal inserts and pickups. You never know which way it’s going to go.

I have flair stand-by tonight, so in about an hour I have to load the ship. I still need to pull my daily inspection and have dinner so I guess I’ll close now.

I know I haven’t been writing a lot but I’m doing the best I can. There is just not that much that I want to tell you other than I miss you and Love You very much. I only have 5 months left to do and I know it’s a long time but it gets shorter and shorter each day. Well I have to go.

Love
Tom
