Because of action of the past week only four slicks are able to make the flight to Polei-Kleng this morning. Four Croc guns also make the flight. Two of the guns will be used as convoy cover and the other set are stand-by for the slicks working the valley.

Primary mission for the remaining units of the 1st Brigade has been given to the 189th AHC. We are there to help them support the troops that remain there.

B-52s are working ther northern part of the valley. The enemy artillery pieces are still a threat to LZ Swinger. We spend the morning resupplying LZ Cider and LZ Pause. The all to familar reports of ground fire come across the radio as this new company of helicopters learn the ropes in the valley.

The day passes very slowly. The strange voices of the 189th pilots fill the air waves. Our crews feel like strangers at a distance cousin's wedding. The only bright spot today is the 17:00hrs release.

Back at Holloway that night we learn that some of the flight platoons will be going to extended RONs to An Khe. As ships become mission ready they will be sent there. Others will remain here and continue to work with the 189th. The game of guessing of who will go and who will stay will start working overtime before the night ends. I hope I am one of the ones that gets to go.
