Arriving at Polei-Kleng we shut down near the Brigade Headquarters. There are several ship there and we get the feeling something is going on. I wander up to the mess hall to get a cup of coffee and start to talk with some of the guys stuck on KP. The word is that the Brigade is moving out of the valley. If that's the case why are there so many replacements in the resupply area this morning.

The pilots return and we get the word. The companies of the 3/8th have been reorganized and the replacements will be blended into those units. Once this is done the 3/8th will combine with the 1/22nd and make one last sweep in the valley.

Landing at resupply the FNGs are waiting for us. Their uniforms are bright green. Their equipment is brand new. They all have that same hopeless look on their faces. I actually feel sorry for them. They have an entire year left here. The first group will go to LZ Pause. They will be assigned to A/3/8. That company was almost wiped out a month ago.

The morning is spent moving troops from Polei-Kleng to LZ Pause and then some troops from Pause to LZ Brace. Once this is accomplished we begin resupplying the bases. Most of the units have remained near their night locations. Artillery and air strike are used in the areas which these troops will move into tomorrow.

Very little enemy movement or contact is reported today. None of the ships have reported ground fire. The best news being that we have not suffered a casualty today. We finish before dark and are released. We hope today's good luck will continue tomorrow.
