Do you remember Sin City near Contour Mountain? By the time I got there it was shut down. I remember flying over it and seeing all the pink and yellow buildings that were once bars and other businesses of pleasure for the troops. It must have been quite the place in its hay day. I rarely went down town and usually it was just passing through on our way to the Air Force Base or Camp Schmit for something. I do remember going to the lake with the water truck. I liked to sit on the hood of the truck and wonder if the fishing would be any good. I always had fights with the one platoon sgt. He was always on my butt about getting a hair cut. I told him one day that if I wasn't flying so much I could get a damn hair cut. The next day he gave me the day off and I found myself burning grass out of the wire along the perimeter. Good old Sgt. Hall and he wondered why his jeep was always getting moved to different areas of the camp.
