I didn't do Desert Strom
In Response To: Re: Hey Mark ()

I know an Army field medic who served over there the first time. He told me that when he returned,
he got a burger in the airport, took it outside, and while he waited for his ride, he unwrapped the burger, placed it on his duffel bag, and just watched it. He told me it was absolutely amazing... no even ONE fly landed on it.

After my first Army hitch, I worked for Texas and Louisiana Lines (Southern Pacific Railroad affiliate) as a Signal Maintainer. Frequently worked on cleanup sites of derailed trains. In the dead of the summer in El Paso, it can easily be 115 degrees, and usually up to ten degrees hotter in the trainyards, due to heat absorption and reflection from all the oil-stained rock and concrete..I didn't much relish operating an 8-pound sledgehammer in that heat, but I could go home at night and crank the AC down to about 60 degrees.

so I just KNOW that 130 to 160 has REALLY gotta be a bitch.
