I'll tell you what happened more than 10 years ago on the CompuServe Military Forum.

After two or three years of banter, several of the guys in the East decided to try for a "reunion." They just picked a motel in Randolph, Mass., and announced when and where.

Joe Galloway, Larry Gwin, Bill Simonsen (4ID grunt), Tim Millar (Cav Arty), Don McBane (4ID Mortarman), Wes Rumble (AF Hanoi Hilton), Chuck Santose (4ID Co Cmdr), Max Nicholas, Frank Maher, Shakey and me, then Mixer, Hoxie, Kraz, many more, other great guys showed up, some solo, some with wives, somes with family.

It ran its course, but it took several years, and when it was good it was GREAT.

Gotta just take our chances. If it works, it's wonderful. If it don't this year or one year, fine. No big deal, it just didn't work. THIS TIME. No reason not to try again, eh?

I am still very close with many of the guys from the original Milforum reunions. Got so we had a hard time explaining what we had and why we found ourselves so close to one another.

We finally explained what we had as a "Reunion of Strangers." Damn, they were good.

It's worth a try. Anybody can't make the first one, maybe they'll make the second one. No big deal. And if it's fun here out East, no reason not to do 'em in Tejas, or in the Great Nowthwest, or ANYWHAR else, eh?
