The bounties first started to appear after Tet. The Crocs had rolled up some pretty high body counts during a couple of runs in and around Pleiku.

The slick platoons worked a lot with the 1st Brigade at Dak To in the beginning of 1968 and because of the increase in LRRP operations the LRRPs became a prize catch of the enemy. Because we did so many hot extractions we were also targeted. I had more then one grunt tell me we were marked men and they would never want our jobs.

I guess when you do your job well sometimes you get noticed.
