Bob, Davey Silk was sitting in the barber chair at Holloway in 67 or early 68 when Basile Doblejef's new AC flew his ship into the wire at the west end of the runway on takeoff. Basile had told him not to try it; he did anyway.
Davey helped put the fire out while Doblejef hoofed it back to his hooch to get another gun to kill the AC with. They stopped him, somehow. Sorta sounds like the pileup you're talking about.
