Dear Lorraine,

Hi Honey! I hope things are going OK for you at school. I’m sorry I haven’t written any letters for a while but I just haven’t had much to say. I know my last letter was pretty bad and maybe that is why I haven’t sent any since. Things have been about the same here, we are still working with the Special Forces at Dak To but should be done soon. I’ll be glad to get back to Pleiku this place is getting scary. The teams we put out keep getting into trouble and I just know something else is going to happen if we stay.

Sorry Babe I gotta go.

Sorry for the interruption but one of the teams called for an extraction, they were in a pretty bad situation. The NVA must have been real close because we had cover by our gun ships and two Air force jets. I did not know the jets were coming in and it just about scared the shit out of me when they went by. I know we were taking small arms fire but I was too busy to tell where it was coming from. We were only able to get about 4 feet from the ground so I had to help pull the guys up and in to the ship. Once the first guy was on board he helped the others so I could return fire into the tree line. Every one got back OK.

We just got word that we will to return to Pleiku tomorrow. In a way I’d like to keep working with the SF Guys. It beats re-supply missions but its also pretty hairy most of the time. Maybe we have pushed our luck and its time to go. Another Helicopter Company is coming in to take our place for the next month or so. This has to be a short letter since I have to pack my gear an check the ship before we head back to Holloway.

I Love You and Miss you Very Much.
