Got a wild-ass idea, folks. Need your ideas.
I think I can get 119th Unit Coins made up for less than $15 each, and probably mail them out individually (or maybe more?) for less than $5 each to anywhere in the country.
Do any of you guys have any interest in a 119th "Challenge" coin for about $20 in your mailbox? If enough of us are interested, I'll get it done, take orders, and mail them.
I would fund the initial order, then build in a couple of dollars of slop over cost and shipping expense just to make sure I come out undamaged, then when they are all gone, send whatever profit hopefully is left to the Vietnam museum at Mineral Wells. (Unless Bob doesn't want it, of course.)
I was thinking of a bronze coin with the VN Service Medal-type decoration (yellow and red stripes) on one side and the Gator patch on the other, maybe some mention of Holloway 1962-1970 and/or Pleiku also. Limited space, obviously.
Anyone have an opinion or any ideas for either side that might help, I sure would appreciate hearing whatever you think.
Might be fun, and maybe do some good.
Bob
