good stuff, Bob- reminds me of one I heard about right after the flying started again right after 9/11- said in jest, of course...
a pilot said that he wanted to salute the intestinal fortitude of those who had decided to exercise their freedom of movement with a flight on the first day back in the sky, and wished that he could tell you that he was armed (similiar to the situation in the URL you blessed us with) and that if any of the passengers had forgotten to bring extra ammo for the flight, that a flight attendant would be around shortly with a wide selection of most popular calibers, bullet styles and weights.

and for anyone who may not yet appreciate it (present company excluded, I'm sure):

An armed society is a polite society.
