Hotel 9 was the large mountain which guarded the off ramp of the Ho Chi Min Trail. The bad guys would put 37mm and 12.7mm anti-aircraft goodies in and around that ridgeline. Heaven forbid if we dropped a bomb in Laos. I know we put guys into the north of it and they would sit all night and count trucks as they headed south. We almost dropped a team into the middle of a truck park near there. The only thing missing was an NVA flag and a billboard with Uncle Ho's picture on it.
