Re: War Story
In Response To: War Story ()

Hud was a card. WE use to tease him about whelling his balls down to the flight line in a wheel barrel. Hud was my first AC on the ole lame duck (he use to call it) 533. I would bring him coffee in a thermos and pour him a cup after we took off to sober him up. After that you were in for the ride of your life. He busted my cherry out in VC valley in Dec.68. For some reason he would always light a cigrette before we hit a hot LZ. and never try to drop a ash from it till he got it to the ash tray. A master of the hamer head stall (one thing I wish he had never taught Shoo Fly) and the Corbet spin. Hud was my hero, and Soo Fly, Baby Huey, Stoney Burke, One cent and you can throw in a few Bob Kilpatrick's, John Morrision's and Ron Careys and Gene Carroll's. I know March is a tough time foa a lot of you guys as it is for me. I can't remember one in 35 years I have not just got by myself and cried. Anyway, I love you guys Touch
