When Lt. Neilius first got his call-sign (Penis) he took his helmet down town and had this picture of a large male member painted on the back of his helmet. This was a work of art. It started at the base at the rear of his helmet and went about 3/4s up the back and then it curved to the right and they had painted a small flight helmet on top of it with a cigarette like hanging out its mouth.

I guess they had picked up some passengers and somebody reported it to operations. Well Major Porter (what a stick in the mud that guy was) our CO at the time Called Penis in and locked his heels and proceeded to grind on his ass. He was told that it was not the thing an army officier would have done. And that the only reason he wasn't being removed from the company is that he was considered a fair aviator and did show some promise. This from a guy which Bill Franks said was "The biggest tight ass in the world. If he ever farted he would explode because there was no way his butt was vented."

They gave Penis a week RON at Dak To and some other simple shit to pull and he had to have his helmet repainted. This was a guy who could hover his ship into a 55 gallon barrel to get to the gates of hell and give satan the finger and then laugh. I wish all the pilots we had were as fair as an aviator as Penis was.
