I think George is talking about two separate incidents. The orange zinc elevator with white numbering started in the middle of 1968. The one in the picture is a 119th ship.

The friend of George said he was hurt in another incident in which the ship had crossed sabres. That would have been a 7/17th Cav. ship. His elevators would have had the 52nd and 7/17 on it.
