ABC Nightline 4/30/04

A Chicago area paper is reporting that tonight's "Nightline" on ABC will consist of Mr. Kopel reading names of soldiers killed in action on Iraq and showing their photo's. If this is true it means that ABC and Kopel have stooped to a new low in (blue?)journalism. This appears to me to be politically motivated and undermines the morale of our troops and their families. I am pretty disgusted with ABC and their reporting of events related to Iraq. So much so that I sent the general manager of ABC in Chicago an email relating my feelings on the subject. I also posed the question, did Mr. Kopel read the names of the 17,970 U.S. citizens killed in alcohol related car crashed that occurred in 2002? We all know the answer to that question. I also mentioned that I will be sending emails to the companies that sponsor Nightline show.
I am not taking a political stand here however I feel that the ABC is doing it's best to make political points at the cost of our dead soldiers. I wonder if the managers at ABC ( and other media's) understand the meaning of "Rest in Peace".
I don't mean to be spouting-off here, but this got me very p______-off this morning.
God bless our troops!
