Hi everyone!

I'm so sorry to have gone MIA on you all. I've been really overwhelmed with everything here. Not much sleep these days.

As for Dad, he is doing OK. He was supposed to have started his chemotherapy and radiation this past week, but when we took him in his blood pressure was too low. I had tried to tell them back when he had the surgery that his bp was low, but since I'm not a doc they didn't listen. I think that because he's lost weight he no longer needs his bp meds. Anyway, with a bp of 87/43 they told him they couldn't do the chemo because it could kill him. So, he's now off his bp meds and is scheduled to start the chemo/radiation on Monday. There is considerable concern that he won't be able to handle doing both at once, but Dad's a fighter and is intent on at least giving it a shot. I have some logistical problems with Monday that I need to work out. My mother is having surgery that day too. I'll figure something out.

The other concern right now is that Dad is not entirely lucid all the time. He's extremetly forgetful and sometimes not able to complete a sentence. I told his VA doc, but he pretty much blew me off. So, I told his oncologist, and he jumped right on it. Dad had a CT scan and an MRI of his brain last week. Hopefully it's just all the meds, but I want to make sure we aren't missing something else.

OK, this is getting really long. Sorry.

Paul, I am so glad to hear your son is doing better. We have been praying like crazy over here, and will continue to do so.

Anyway, I hope you'll forgive my lapse of communication.

Stephanie
