Follow-Up

I did the posting last night just to let everyone know. I had just gotten home from the White Sox game. This is a yearly thing which my oldest son and myself do. We are the only Sox fans in a family of Cub lovers. We are considered socially out casts and before last years' melt down of the Cubs in the play-offs life at times was unbearable. We enjoyed several of the six dollar per cup of Heinekens and a couple good old ball park hot dogs. And believe it or not the Sox managed to finally win a game. All in all a great night.

I started this about six years ago. After several tries, I was about to give it up and trash the entire idea. My wife who has all of the brains showed me the errors of my ways. After she slapped me up-side the head she told me to write in the same texts as I did in my journal and things started to fall in place. I had never really told her about most of the stuff which happened over there so many nights were spent reliving the events which I was writting about.

The book is a day by day account of what happened. I have included After Action Reports which were filled during this time. I also have articles which were written in the "Ivy Times" which was the bi-weekly newspaper of the 4th Infantry. I also have several statements from guys which were on the ground during the operation. I tried to make it an easy read for anyone which is not familiar with army terms and operations.

Besides my wife, Bob K., which is a master of the English language, helped polish some of my crude writting and along with Al Mixer provided pictures. Dave Fogg and George Heidt got me many reports and helped clarify some of the areas where I had questions. I owe a special thanks to Mark. If he had not started this site I would have never started anything like this.

I hope that some of the questions which people have asked over the last thirty plus years can be answered. Thanks everybody for your support.
