Just got power restored last nite. Sewers still acting up but almost 2 weeks with no modern conveniences is enuf! Generators and leaf blowers are 2 inventions that should be banned from use except in the country. Nearly ready to kill neighbors for awhile. Thank God we all recognized our tempers were a bit on edge and we all locked down long enuf to restore humor and come out to restore the environment. Had one neighbor who used his gun and ended his life.
Pioneer living was left behind for a good reason. Bah humbug. All the years of being involved with Boy Scouts paid off in survival but am leaving this a.m. for Baton Rouge and all life has to offer using modern conveniences. Enuf is enuf. We have been trapped in devastation that will take months to get thru. The exits have been a narrow road clogged with people trying to leave or trying to bring us ice and water, etc. Had to cut our way out the front door and that was just the beginning. Airport now opened. . National Guard saved several from being murdered at gas stations and food and water sources along with getting thru on roads without human battles. Fortunately, my battery died the day of the hurricane, so I didn't have to venture out til late last week. Even then, it was very dicey on all streets and tempers were flaring. By yesterday, things greatly improved.
Enuf..got to move on and stay positive. We are alive and that's a tremendous plus. Thanks for your thoughts. If this is all disjointed, so am I at the moment (more than usual)
