Have made plans with Bob K. to get out to Washington DC for Veteran's Day. Will arrive Thursday around noon on the 11th and depart Sunday AM. I hope to hook-up with some of the guys from that area.
I just need to get over a couple of things before then. I have a fear of heights. Helicopters at tree top level are fine but anything above that in the "Zap Zone" I have a problem with. The other is big cities. I took my daughter to Chicago Saturday to watch the Cubs end another season with the phase "Wait till next year". After a drive down the narrow side streets, I remembered why I like being a country boy.
Planning on going to "The Wall", seeing America's Huey and hoping to rubbing elbows with Joey Galloway and a few of the 1st Cav. guys that made it out of the Ia Drang Valley. I would imagine that we will drink at least one beer and tell one or two war stories that start with the phrase, "Hey! This ain't no sh-t! or You wouldn't believe this, but,". Got the short-timers calender made and have already starting to mark off days.
Looking forward to hooking up with any of you guys that are in the A/O while I am there.
Ron
