Lumpy---Mayday

Tom,

Do you know anybody over at the National Archives?
I had a guy contact me this weekend and he is starting to do research on the May 26,1968 battle that took place at FSB 29. He was with C/1/8 and on the base when this happened. I gave him the guy that I was in contact with but even without an election going on it would take them sometimes several weeks before they would get back to me.

What he is looking for is the After Action Reports and radio logs on 5/25/68-5/26/68 that involved companies A/1/8 and C/1/8 on FSB 29(Hill 824). I gave him what I had in my journal and what I remembered. We were sent up there sometime after midnight on 5/26/68. The NVA tried to over run the base and did breach the perimeter. Our guys killed around 600 bad guys that night. I remember going in there before sun up and kicking out ammo and pulling wounded out and later that day taking the dead back to Dak To.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to hooking up with you on the 11th.

Ron
