Just reading all the comments. All of us were submitted at one time or another for an award. Just cause we pissed someone off is NO reason to hold back on recognizing a soldier for going above and beyond.Seems at that time documentation got lost along the way or someone(REMF) just didn't care about the sense of urgency to send it up the chain and the paperwork became history or just plain trash.I choose the latter.

Unfortunately-Bob-I admire your intentions and motivation to recognize your crew but Army Regulations have a statue of limitations for submitting soldiers for an award. Now if in fact the citation or request for an award is out there somewhere you might be able to push to have orders cut and awarded. An award has to be submitted within 2 years of the act. I found out the hard way. I now have a sense of urgency and submit them as soon as I can.
If I can do you guys any good with any Regulations, just give me a heads up.
