the stuff I post...

I know I bring a lot of drivel here, but there's
something I have to get off my chest-

I guess good music has always meant too much to me, y'know- the feel-good, pie-in-the-sky idealist crap. No more. I was raised by a Mom who sang with a swing band in the late 30s, a Dad who
sang with a Gospel group, have five brothers and sisters who play something very well, sing or dance like crazy. I had the great experience of being heavily exposed to classical music at home and in school since a very early age, have gladly embarrassed myself among friends with guitars for forty years, and can't get into the car without traffic reports, news, weather, then all the music I can stand. The National Anthem, God Bless America, and certain Sousa Marches absolutely make my skin crawl, and frequently bring tears. I'll always love it.

my point?

The concert at the MCI center the other night,
featuring Springsteen, James Taylor, the Dixie Chicks, REM, U2, et al, ad nauseum, reportedly (from local "right-wing-conspiracist radio talk shows") had ticket prices at up to $1000.00 per seat. One caller reported that it was made clear that night at the concert that the preponderence of the ill-gotten proceeds were to be donated to the Kerry-Edwards Campaign.

It was revealed also that the event was coordinated by MoveOn.org and I think we all need to find a way to drop them in their tracks. What was that old line about "fiddling while Rome burns" ??

and "Fahrenheit 9-11" is for sale in the PX.

I used to truly appreciate most of the music by "the Boss", and UNTIL recent events, including those involving the above-named Lefties using the music appreciation forum to spill their Commie guts, NEVER heard a song from the Chicks, JT, or CSNY that I didn't truly like. So much for that.
I have all their CDs, or cassette tape or LP. (n
I swear I will not buy another, or listen to any of it again, because it will make me go out and
do something stupid which I'd almost love to do, like find a used eight track, and throw the rest of the "modern" crap away. Hey- I still have reel-to-reel tapes from Holloway!

I'm stopping now, because this is just going to ruin my weekend.

... but o.k. now. just saw on the Web we're about to take Falluja. Zarqawi, if he's there, is toast.
