35 years later, and we've just drawn a new ash and trash missions, guys.

Dave Fogg has hooked up with grunts in Iraq from his old unit, the 35th Infantry. He is sending packages of cookies and other stuff to guys in the 1st Platoon, B Company, 2nd Bn, 35th Infanty.

I'm going to try to send cartons of stuff from Sam's or BJs wholesale clubs to them regularly.

Dave sent me a list of names of all the guys in the 1st Platoon, and if anyone wants to help out with either letters or supplies, I'll email the roster to you.

Dave writes:

"The unit I served with in Vietnam (35th Infantry) has been deployed to Afghanistan. I have adopted a soldier (Adam Schoeneck) and mail a package each week to Adam. One of Adam's letters mentioned that two of his team members (Adam Henderson & Paul Harris) really enjoyed the Archway cookies that I had sent. I went to the supermarket and cleaned out the shelf of the Archway cookies and mailed a package to both Adam Henderson & Paul Harris. Adam Henderson wrote me a letter thanking me for the cookies and also mentioned; 'you are our buddy, about the only one that writes or sends packages.' I was able to get a list of names of all the guys from the 1st Platoon, B Co., 2/35 and I'm trying to get some mail/packages sent to the platoon. Attached is a list of names, would you please pass this list along to all the 119th guys. I know the soldiers would be thrilled to receive a letter/package. Thanks for any consideration."

I'll try to find out more about the kinds of things they can use. I bet Paul could give us good ideas of the stuff that's hard to get.
