MACV/SOG FOBII

Got an e-mail from Paul Wilson, crew chief 170th AHC, Nov.1966-Nov.1967. He is putting together information about the tours of duty each of the 52nd CAB units pulled from 1967-1971.

Once the 189th and 57th got in-country in the mid to latter part of 1967 each company pulled a 60 day tour at FOBII. The 119th pulled this duty in Dec.1967 and Jan.1968. We again pulled it in Aug.&Sept of 1968. We were to again pulled a tour during April and May of 1969 but because of Operation Wayne Grey and the move of the 1st Bde. of the 4th Infantry to An Khe we were passed over and I believe the 57th started to that duty as their normal mission.

Does anyone remember pulling this duty prior to Dec. 1967 and after Sept. 1969? I left the company in Sept. 1969 and we were at An Khe. I know that the company returned to Holloway for a short time in late 1969 but returned to An Khe in early 1970. Paul is looking more some type of time frame rather then events.

Thanks,

Ron
