Thirty Eight years ago today 119th 2ed Flight Crew Chiefs were summoned to the Old Man's office. It seems that around 12:00 am on New Years night their was a considerable amount of automatic weapons fire comming from within the compound and directed outbound. It seems that some aircraft in the pattern to land reported receiving fire from within the compound and had to abort their approach. It was also reported that the control tower had to evacuate for similar reasons. We were questioned as to weather or not we had any knowledge of weapons being discharged or persons involved. If my memory serves me correct 10 CE's all responded with a hardy "NO SIR". After a through ASS CHEWING we were dismissed. The Old Man's parting words were "I Like It When My Troops Stick Together"

I am still not sure to this day who could have done something like that, maybe Willie can remember more of the details.
