Discovery has changed the name of the Wings Channel on cable to the Military Channel.

They're going to have a new series on it called "Battlefield Diaries," some of which will be narrated by Joe Galloway.

The first Battlefield Diaries episode – “RAID AT CABANATUAN” premieres Monday, 1/17 at 10 PM on The Military Channel (previously Discovery Wings).

Next episodes scheduled to air:

“Last of the Buffalo Soldiers” - Monday 2/21 at 10pm

“Battle of Al Khafji” - Monday 3/21 at 10pm

He told me he did one on Lam Son 719 also, and one or two others we'll have to watch for.

Also, the program that refuses to die, "Landing Zone Vietnam," the "God's Lunatics" show, is scheduled to air again in a couple of weeks, January 29th.

And I read today that there is a bill in Congress to make an exception in Medal of Honor award time restrictions so that the Medal can be awarded to a 1st of the 9th (1st Cav) Scout crew chief named Gary Lee McKiddy. Killed after a shootdown in 1970, trying to extract the pilot from his burning LOH.

Remember the old routine, "Thousands of medals for bravery in action were earned every day in Vietnam. Some were even awarded."

Let's hope they get it done.
