Personally, I don't know why we need another association, but I also know nothing about an earlier attempt to take over the VHPA or the guys
trying to form the CHPA. I do know that I have never been impressed by the VHPA for 2 reasons: 1) they have no accommodation for GIBs to join 2) their only purpose seems to the annual (grossly expensive reunion) at exotic places that
restricts the ability of all members to attend. From what I've seen, the attendance is a very small percentage of the total membership. I do really enjoy the membership directory, which is and was a great deal fo time, effort and energy on the part of someone to put together. I think what we see from the attempt to start another Vietnam Vets organization is what I've mentioned before; all Nam Vets don't get along, nor like each other. I do believe we have enough organizations and only need improve the ones we got. We need to pull together, not apart. It's people pulling apart that caused the mess we came
home to. We may not agree on politics, religion or a favorite sports team, but we got to believe in staying together. That's how we survived, and that's where we get our support from today.
