The 45 is an Army 1911A1, A Real good one with matching parts like they should be. Tight as can be and a dream to shoot. Tuned really nice. It will make a group the size of a half dollar at 10 yards but is too bulky to carry concealed in warm weather. I have a little 8 shot beretta 32 cal tom cat semi auto pistol (with tritium sights for night use) that I carry most of the time. With that sight mod it's called an "alley cat". It's a little devil with really souped up ammo that hits really hard and the bullet explodes to make sure you stop who ever is coming at you. I carry it in my pocket or fanny pack all the time. Feel naked with out it but if I am going to a bad place I used to to take my 9mm but now I feel OK with the 32 and new ammo.
I have the 45 in the console of my truck all the time so,like all good Texans, I am ready if some ill mannered asshole forgets he's in Texas and resorts to road rage. Nice big heavy bullets to take out a door if need be. Only had to pull it once in all these years and that was in Colorado when some punk in a big dodge ram decided he owned the road and tried to push me around. Once he saw the 45 he decided he was not in a cuss fight and backed far away. He was practiclly pushing me then tried to take off my mirror and was getting ready for another pass at me when I showed him my response. I guess he found out an old man from Texas was not in a mood for juvenile BS. Anyway It has served me well and it made the assault with a motor vehicle punk back off. Actually he took off like his butt was on fire. I guess I should have reported it but decided to let it be. I had his tag number and a witness so he got off real lucky.
