Re: The real thing

And Spring is a rare day. The best way to tell when we do have a Spring day is by the passage of a "wet" front: in the Winter the "wet" is snow, and in the Summer it is rain. On Spring day it is rain and snow mixed. I think we had one of those about 3-4 years ago. Last year it snowed the weekend before Memorial Day, and the Memorial Day high temp was 88 degrees, making it clearly a Summer day!

To be completly honest, we in the Rocky Mountain West do not call our seasons by such prosaic names as "Fall", "Winter", etc. We call them "Hunting", "Damn, It's Cold", "Weed Burning", and "Highway Construction". Down in Colorado they have a "Windy Season", but here in Wyoming we only have 2-3 days a year the wind doesn't blow, so we pretty much ignore it. Unless the gusts get over 60 mph, then we try to stay indoors.
