119th Slick - Can you ID ?

I posted a photo in the Album of a 119th Slick that Dan Delarosa sent me. He got it from Tom Jones accompanied by the following information:

---------------------------
Dan: Great news!!

Hey, I also got my scanner going and I'm attaching a photo taken by Major Jim Evrard, Gene Johnson's predecessor, probably in June of 1966. He just gave the photo to me last month for use in my book project for the 25th Infantry Division Ass'n.

Please note the black numbers "119" below the pilot's window. I can't see an Aircraft ID #, but that number "2" in the white block behind the pilot's head might mean something to anybody from the 119 who sees it.

The passenger shown is Captain Charles "Charlie" Jackson from the 2nd Bn, 9th Artillery that supported the 1/14 Infantry. He was our Liaison Officer and always travelled with our Battalion command group. You will also note the German Shepherd dog aboard. He would have had a handler with him, as we had these Scout Dogs attached to our Rifle Companies to help us flush out the North Vietnamese soldiers we were hunting along the Cambodian border. One of these dogs was wounded by shrapnel while serving with our Company A and we actually have pictures of it receiving the "Purple Heart" award.

I'll have lots more for you as time goes on.

Tom Jones
