Re: Some things you don't forget...

Yesterday I took the manager of North American Sales (helicopters) and the West region manager of Sales for Chelton Flight Systems (CFS) shooting.
I only fired maybe 20 rounds total because the purpose was to teach them to shoot pistols. One of the Dallas Police chopper pilots came along and between us we showed them pistol safety, how to hold aim and fire etc. The west manager was a female that could pass for a model and weighed maybe 115 pounds. The NA manager is Canadian and had never fired a pistol in his life. Neither had she. We started with about 100 rounds each from the little Ruger mark II, 22 cal target pistol to learn the fundementals. Then moved to the 9mm Baby eagle for another 100 rounds. Then 100 rds. each from the 45 cal 1911A1
Finally they graduated to the cops personal arsnal which was a 41 Cal magnum Revolver with his own old handloads. Think of that big sucker with some hopped up hand loads. The Canook fired about 75 or 80 rounds while the little lady was finishing off the last of the 45 ammo. (And making damned good groups by now). The we let her have the 41 Mag and BLAM! "Holy Shit" but it was dead on. Then she tightened her grip and moved her stance a bit and shot till empty. we showed her how to relaod a revolver and let her go again. She did about 30 rounds and we were done for the day. I had an enthusiastic Annie Oakley on my hands. they left today for Idaho. My next step is to get them into the NRA.
I had to break in the 45 anyway. A lot of guys take business clients golfing. I do not golf so I took them shooting and they had a blast and called to say "thanks'.
Bob you need to go more often. it is good anger management therapy-))
On the way back I asked the young lady what she thought as she shot the first groups. ' She said 'think Ex-husband" and I rolled with laughter. Anyway, it was a good day. Last Thursday I took the president and vice president of CFS and they both had a Ball. It had been years for themsince they'd fired hand guns. While they may forget golf games and golfers and such, they will remember their time in Texas and Bob Taylor.
